Funded Diabetic Foot Checks

Diabetes, whether Type 1 or Type 2, is well known, yet it is often misunderstood as merely a blood sugar problem.  It is far more than that; when our glucose levels rise, our blood circulates through every organ and tissue, reaching and affecting every single cell. Diabetes is a metabolic disease that affects the entire body, including the feet.

It makes no difference whether you read a research paper or article, listen to a podcast, or watch a diabetes documentary. They all recommend that you have your feet checked on a regular basis to avoid problems caused by insufficient blood flow and nerve damage.
Furthermore, diabetes can cause other foot problems that are rarely discussed. As a result, you should never underestimate the dangers of diabetes. It cannot be emphasised how important it is to have your feet evaluated by a podiatrist at least once a year.

If specific conditions are met, some diabetics may be eligible for funded limited visits to a podiatrist specialist for diabetic foot exams. Please see the attached video.
